What a halo is
A halo is a ring of small stones around a center stone. It does two things: it makes the center look larger and adds a border of light that intensifies its color.
The ruby
Ruby is one of the four classic precious stones and ranks 9 on the Mohs scale, so it holds up well to frequent wear. Rubies are commonly heated to improve their color; any treatment is disclosed before purchase.
How to wear it
On a fine chain, the halo stays the most striking point of the necklace.
